Just installed Torkklift stable loads

Towing a trailer with a 1 ton SB. Wow what a difference, I had them on my old dually chev and I was impressed then, but with a single rear wheel shortbed, the difference is even more marked. I just bought a Dodge 1 ton SRW SB, so decided to give them a try rather than use airbags. I drove to Seattle earlier this week to visit their plant in person as I am quite close. Very impressive and a great bunch of folks. I could not believe the improvement in stability and sway. Highly recommended. The lower ones can easily be removed. I decided to wait & see before installing uppers, but I don't need them. As a Mexican Caravan Wagon Master, I have to deal with the million Topes (speed bumps) on Mexican highways. Since I am in front, I hit them first, and I miss at least one every year. (That is why I always tell the rig behind me not to follow too close as I have had to do some pretty hard braking) I really wanted to beef up my suspension as much as possible and when I had airbags on my original Ford, I had issues with leaks. I have always been impressed with Torklift products. You get what you pay for, I suppose. I have seen 3 truck beds damaged so far in Mexico by truck bed mounted Truck Camper tie downs, from hitting a Tope too hard. I am now a big booster of Torklifts frame mounted ones after seeing that.

I'm not a TC owner but I've used one including loading, unloading, and re-positioning when it got askew. The lifts sound interesting. Pickups, at least SRW, need all the anti-sway help they can get, and many ride too low in the rear with the camper on.
And NOT a fan of bed-mounted camper tie-downs. The Chassis Mounted is the way to go. If that's what the Canadian rental outfits use to drive CN and AK, and you see them best in MX, no reason not use in the other 48. Not as pretty as bed-mounted, but I'd rather have stuff work and not break.
  • I forgot to post a couple of photos

I posted some pics of truck bed damage in the Truck camper forum section where somebody else also started a topic on stable loads
