Downloadable solar sizing spreadsheet in order to estimate power use.
Some folks have found that adding enough solar production eliminates the use of a generator. This depends, also, on the amount of power you use and the amount of battery storage capacity you're able to have. For an average small-medium user this might be 2 6v golf cart batteries and up to 200w of solar.
For myself, I wished to eliminate generator use so I decided to use 235w of solar and have, currently, 320 AH of battery capacity. I built the system so that I can add more modules if the need arises and have provisions for even more battery storage should I need it. Since I built the entire 12v part of the trailer's system, I was able to eliminate most of the powered devices that are common to most late model TT's. Those would be the alarms, furnace and thermostat, and any accessory circuit boards. They have been replaced with battery operated devices and appliances that don't use electricity. By eliminating usage, I'm able to operate with less.
