Something to be aware of when buying wire is that sometimes it is not always 100% copper but Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA). CCA will not carry as much current as pure copper. This means that if you want the current capacity of 10 gauge pure copper you would have to use 8 gauge CCA. CCA is cheaper and lighter weight but would be bulkier. The cheap wire on eBay is quite often CCA. It's best to ask the seller if the wire is CCA. There is nothing wrong with CCA as long as you know what you are buying.
