Usually not. I just didn't want to unload too much info at once. Normally, people keep controller inside. I vaguely recall some weather-proof (not waterproof) for installing on street lights etc, or a weather-proof enclosure added for extra $.
If you have a storage space in front, put it there, with wires routed outside through the floor or front wall. There is a thing called "strain relief" for this purpose, basically a plastic sleeve with nut, $2 or so, in Home Depot. Behind the fridge - maybe, not sure. It is hot in there, and then the cable from the controller to battery will have to be very long because fridge is usually close to the center of trailer, so this not good - controller needs to be close to battery. Consider placing it within the reach of 12ft booster cable.
This is why I wrote few pages ago - install, measure, and then order the MC4 cable, it can be as long as you need, this doesn't affect the resulting power (not too much).
