Good point, Mex. It's not all that rosy. On 1,200 miles long peninsula there is only one propane plant in Sta Rosalia. 30 lb tank will last 2-3 weeks top. Mostly fridge eats the propane, the stove will last several months on one tank. So if you don't use the fridge (gasp) and carry dryfoods, canned meat and fruits, you can live all winter on one tank. Rice is cheap, but canned food is expensive, even local canned fish is expensive, don't know why. Distilled water "should be" available in Walmart, but there is no Walmart on 1,000 miles stretch between Ensenada and Cabo.
PS: forgot about furnace. It needs A LOT of propane. In January-February temps in the night drop below freezing in desert, and even on the coast you want to run a furnace shortly after sunset, and by the morning it can burn 3 lbs or more. Or dig deep under really good duvet or sleeping bag. So - yes, propane is a problem.
