I just found this thread. I'm a solar junkie! When folks ask me about solar power anything I ALWAYS direct them to this blog:

As far as the polarity of the wires coming off your panel....I ran into the same situation with my 120W panel from Solar Blvd. I had to use a volt meter to check the polarity. I would suggest you buy a digital voltmeter as you will need it later to check batteries, cables, amps, watts etc. There are excellent YouTube tutorials on how to use a DVOM (Digital Volt Ohm Meter).
