Hi Mitch,
Install the wires with a loop in them. That takes care of vibration and metal fatigue will take much longer to become a factor.
I do not recommend the handybob site.
I believe you are making something simple into something difficult. This is not rocket science.
There is no need to "see the controller" any more than there is to "see the water heater". Very occasionally you may want access to it.
Unless you become a solar nutter (such as myself) eventually the display of amps charging becomes of little interest.
