If it's possible, I'd mount the controller off the floor of the storage space. If you look at what others have done, you'll see that controllers, switches, fuses, and other devices are mounted on a panel (could be plywood) and not in the middle of the storage area. All of the devices are secured to this panel and not allowed to move, that keeps the wiring from moving and breaking. It also allows you to use the storage space without throwing anything on top of the solar controller and wiring.
