But running a generator with an onboard converter/charger or an outboard charger that doesn't get to the proper voltage to fully charge the battery might be damaging the batteries in the long run. If the voltage isn't high enough for your battery (s) then it could take days for the battery(s) to get fully charged, if they ever do.
