Just think green. Your diesel fuel cap is green and at the fuel station the diesel hose will be green. How would your generator gas get in your diesel?
One gallon of gas mixed with 50 gallons of diesel is not going to kill your diesel engine.
While recently in Iceland driving a rented diesel Land Cruiser I noticed that wherever we went, the green gas pump nozzles were universally for gasoline and the black nozzles for diesel.
ALMOST made the mistake. Couple of states on east coast have I think BP stations where green nozzles are for gasoline.
And driving rental cdi diesel in Europe I actually did the mistake as they had 4 hoses hang in 2 feet of space.
15% of gas did not hurt anything. I put 4000 km on the rental after.
