The Onan 2500 LP propane generator (I wish Winnebago offered the diesel Onan on this model) is fine and definitely something I'll use for most items. However, with 10 gallons of propane (13 gallon tank, 80% usable), and it uses about half a gallon an hour running the A/C, it gives me 20 hours of run time, and in the Texas heat, that means sometime Sunday, it will run dry. Bringing along an external generator (there are no lightweight, quiet diesel inverter gensets) and a few gas cans will allow me to have a three day weekend without having to go back into a town for propane filling, or take a few 20# cylinders somehow and use an Extend-A-Stay to use them.
The good thing about the Fuse is that the driver's side door has to be open before the fuel fill is accessible, so it does take some sort of key to get access to it. However, it would be nice if a fuel lock were offered. However, it is the same on the Sprinter rigs that I saw have to get towed off (I checked... one had to have exactly as described above... every fuel line replaced, as well as the high pressure fuel pump and the injectors.)
I try not to be a "zombie", but I like having some type of procedure in place where things don't happen. Too many horror stories about DEF in the wrong tank, and so on. With a gasser, diesel fuel just means the tank has to be drained pretty much, and the MAF likely replaced. With a diesel, there is no room for error.
Ironically, here in Texas, green nozzles can mean E-85, not diesel.
