Use a labelmaker (like a Brother) with the plastic tape to make multiple labels for your cans on all 4 sides and the top---GASOLINE in big all caps letters.

Put another label (or more than 1 if you can find spots to put them) adjacent to the fuel fill, somewhere that you will HAVE to see it: DIESEL ONLY NO GASOLINE
