Keystone Bullet Atwood Furnace removal

I have a Keystone Bullet trailer with an Atwood Furnace, model 8531 IV DCLP L/D. It is located and only accessible from inside, beneath the refrigerator. Can anyone provide details on how to remove the furnace so it can be checked out? All other gas appliances work. Trailer hooked up to AC. AC comes on. Furnace blower comes on. Unit has single spark 3 times, then shuts off. Keystone offers no assistance providing removal info.
  • Look for an owners manual online for the Atwood furnace model that you have. There should be troubleshooting tips as it sounds like the same problem we had when the ignitor just needed to be adjusted to that the flame would light. You may also just have dirty connections, a critter nest, mud daubers, dirty burner etc causing the problems. There is usually an access door on the outside for this purpose. Maybe the manual will also instruct on how to remove. I think Bryant RV has the manuals online that you can view or download for free. Do a google search and it should pop right up.
  • Correct. The problem is that it sits below the access removal area. Gas line runs in front. There is no obvious signs of how it is secured to the short ledge it sits on top of. It is a very poor installation for servicing.
  • L/D means it is a cabinet model furnace. The ONLY way to work or test is to remove the complete furnace and casing. That means it should come out that inside wood or metal access vent cover. Doug
  • Yes. They offered to help troubleshoot. BUT, it means I have to have access to the furnace which is not possible unless I can remove it. It is behind a grill, several inches below the refrigerator. It is not easily accessed or evident how to remove it.
In March I took it to Crestview RV in Georgetown, just before the warranty expired. They said they blew it out. We did not try the furnace until Dec. It is still going through the same problem. Now out of warranty.
