I've yet to see one shred of proof that use of a K&N filter toasted an engine before the life of the vehicle was done. The body of the vehicle will rust away long before the engine dies from use of a K&N filter.
On the flip side with today's computer controlled emissions systems, there is no gain in using one unless you get a tune.
Bottom line, stick with the regular paper filters that the engine and PCM programming was designed to work with.
