Kwikee Step Adjustment

I stepped on the steps before they finished coming out, and now they shimmy back and forth and will not go all the way back in.  I removed the motor and looked at the gear on the motor and the gears of the steps, and everything looks as it should.  There was not any damage.  Is there any adjustment I can make?
