Lacrosse Luxury Lite Refrigerator

We have a 2013 Lacrosse Luxury Lite Travel Trailer, which we love. However, originally we had trouble with the refrigerator when trying to switch either from electricity to propane or vice versa. Now we can't get it to work on electricity at all. Our RV sales people are swamped and I'm not sure they'll be able to do a repair before we leave for vacation for a month and my experience with them receiving repair parts in a timely fashion doesn't make me feel comfortable. Does anyone have experience with this? You were all so helpful with our last RV when we had trouble with the water heater, the fix worked and cost nothing! I'm hoping one of you can help with this as well.
  • Could be a control problem
Could be a burned out electricity heating element

How advanced is your personal mechanical aptitude?

we rarely use the electric side of the frig, gas cools faster,,better so instead of your rv siting on a dealers lot for a month, just use the gas. and it,ll run for weeks on a tank of fuel.remember start the frig 23hrs before you load it. we load some at 12hrs or so. that way the doors not open very long.add a small fan inside the frig it,ll cool things faster.and even out the inside temp. and remember your frig uses 12volt for the controls so charge your battery before leaving.

We do lots of dry camping, we rely on solar; use gas on the refrig extensively. If its working fine on LP I'd wait to work on it until you return from vacation; no need to see if you can cause more problems dickering with it now.

Get a copy of the repair manual read it while on vacation, by the time you return you will know all about how to fix it.

    Good Luck,

  • Here is my new standard solution, do an advanced search on "Chris Bryant" and go to his blog with manuals. Chris is a very knowledgeable and friendly RV guy. Getting the manual gives you the best trouble shooting chances. If you buy a nice(not the same as expensive)DMM and really learn how to use it, you can find a lot of problems on your own.

He posted a reply to one of my questions and it was the only correct answer. Our rig is old and the appliances fork 99% of the time. There aren't any electronics that tell you what is wrong, fridge works or it doesn't but there isn't any PC board, it's all mechanical. Everyone else wanted to know what code was flashing.

Good luck with solving the problem and remember to K.I.S.S., Keep It Simple Sir.
  • My son has the RV right now, he is camping with his family so I can't check the model number. I will as soon as they get back mid week and post it then.
The power light does come on and the little light which switches on the panel showing if it is electricity or propane moves to the proper location when the button is pressed, but it only runs on Propane no matter what the light indicates. In answer to the leveling, My answer would have to be yes. Obviously we travel with the propane powering the refrigerator and when arriving at our destination, switch to electricity (which is after we are done setting up. I didn't know about a reset, is the chimney what looks like the exhaust on the side of the RV where the refrigerator is located?

  • The model of the refrigerator would help a little. Does the power light come on? Is the unit level and has it always been level while it is on? There is a reset button on the chimney of some models.
