At the dunes in Glamis, I have seen RV's with large helium balloons flying a couple hundred feet above them on a string or rope so riders can find their RV from a long distance. Does anyone know the best setup for doing that with a re-usable balloon and helium tank? Thanks!
Tying the balloon to your bumper may not be all that good an idea
Arizona Ballons is the company I got mine from if I recall correctly (2006 was when I got it)
I use a LARGE tank of helium. like you find in a balloon store for the STORE use not the little disposables but a refillable
It rides the "Rails" above my propane tank. HEaven forbid a fire but if one happens then having a 200 cubic feet of chyrogenic non-reactive gas to blow out the relief valve on the tank... Well that could have a "Chilling" effect on teh fire (About 3 degrees ABSOLUTE. or -270C)
I tied it to the RV and wind blew it around and did a bit of minor damage. I wound up tying it to a ground anchor a short distance away to protect the RV.. I'd like to have hundreds of pounds on the anchor so a 5 gallon bucket of water.. NOT going to do it.
The Tank came from one of the Gas Companies (Just Califorina side of the border on I-10) and I have refilled it. I own the tank.
NOTE.. I can pick up and load the tank.. But I also pick up 250 pound objects and load them That is one HEAVY tank.
Tank last 2 weeks (7' balloon).
