Ductape - today's mono have indeed a little more wattage on the nameplate, per sq ft (used to have much more than poly's, but poly's have improved since then). In other words, mono's are a little smaller than poly of the same wattage.
However, average daily output of mono is lower, per same wattage. At least, this is what I hear.
To put those bigger/smaller in perspective, 260W poly is 39.4" x 65.95". This is 0.10006W/sq.inch. 255W mono that the OP is considering, 39.1" x 65", is 0.10033W/sq.inch. A whooping 0.01% more watts per sq. inch.
