So how is waste safely stored for 250,000 years?

Is that figured into the OEM cost of a Nuke plant? (of course not--it would immediately make it uneconomic.)

But there are tons of materials which need this sort of storage. Some one needs to "get on with it".

The nuke waste problem would be fixed except for leftist's blocking construction and use of waste disposal facilities. This is their typical practice, block the fix to some problem by use of their political judges, then whine and cry about it not getting fixed.

The Japanese were very stupid about the way that plant was built and regulated. The NRC would never allow that plant to operate in the US. I was a nuke reactor operator and can speak from personal experience on this.

How could one take this story seriously when they can't even get basic units correct? It's advertising in disguise, IMO.

You're talking about the Navy, aren't you? They "claim" that 128 of their bases are in serious danger of flooding this coming century and that it's a matter of national security. So it's really a money grab. What do you suppose they are hiding?

Political pressure from the last administration certainly brought that about, along with the military spending 2 or 3 times more on 'biofuels' than they would have normally. Yes money was involved, politicians using crony capitalism to throw money at their political supporters.

Why are people so ready to take on climate science as if it's some kind of vast conspiracy? If it's an agenda you're looking for, it's a whole lot easier to envision one from the gas and oil industry.

When a group of people find their livelihood tied to some issue, I think you'll find that they are willing to do almost anything to keep the money coming. If they were honest they would release the data that they claim shows this warming. But they refuse to do so. That shows that they are hiding something.

I'm well aware that the United States Navy and Marine Corp bases have stupendously large land based infrastructure but the initial thought of ships and flooding being a concern chuckled me.

Frankly, I am sick of hyperbole, and endless counterclaims of fraud and deception by the "enemy".

So to assuage my guilt of being part of humanity, I have planted hundreds of succulents on my property. 114 Haden mango trees. I live on 75 kWh of electrical power monthly. I purchase 33 gallons of gasoline monthly and even though I live in an uncontrolled country, my car gets California smogged (free) yearly and every emission is well within parameter limits.

I would hate to think I was a hypocrite and worked my vocal cords harder than my personal effort and contribution.
