Idiot light battery monitors are notoriously bad. Installation of a simple voltage gauge is cheap and fairly accurate.
There appeared to be two old type Ford starter relays tucked behind the driver side of the radiator at the top. These appeared to be wired into the large cable(s) eventually going to the house battery positive terminal.
