I have found Winnebago Customer Service to be very helpful - 1-800-537-1885.
Stating the obvious, do a through clean and flush of the black tank and position the RV so that anything left in the tank is tipped away from the tank outlet before removing the coupling.
I believe the flexible coupling is called a Fernco fitting.
