Had that issue myself and my access door isn't adjustable. I did the light trick and I could see the bulb seal wasn't contacting the inner lip of the compartment at the top ans was allowing rainwater in.
What I did was, I took a wooden mallet and carefully bent the inner compartment lip outward (where the bulb seal wasn't contacting it.) Took a couple 'adjustments' with the mallet and light checks but I got it handled and it don't leak now.
