Leave carb drain open on Honda gen in storage?

After I drain the carburetor after using my Honda 2000, should I leave the drain screw open till the next time I use it, or should I close the drain while the generator is in storage? (I run it every...

I have an old Chinese generator that I start every couple months and and run an electric heater.

I just run the carb dry when I'm done and have never had a starting problem.

I don't think it's necessary to open the drain screw.
