Leave carb drain open on Honda gen in storage?

After I drain the carburetor after using my Honda 2000, should I leave the drain screw open till the next time I use it, or should I close the drain while the generator is in storage? (I run it every...

It seems to be a popular idea on here, but I've never seen anything about 'exercise' in the manual. I doubt you need to do that. Besides, when you're done with that you have to drain it all over again...or run it dry.
