Leave carb drain open on Honda gen in storage?

I have always used Sea Foam in all my small engines as a stabilizer and to keep the gumming of the fuel handling parts and pieces. My Honda dealer recommended that it is the best way to keep a generator motor ready to go. I too run my E3000 once a month and when done simply shut it off. Good for more than 5 years now.
