Leave carb drain open on Honda gen in storage?

After I drain the carburetor after using my Honda 2000, should I leave the drain screw open till the next time I use it, or should I close the drain while the generator is in storage? (I run it every...

I would not leave the drain open because something will try to build something in it. Either a spider or mud-dobber would be the most likely but maybe something else.
