Leave carb drain open on Honda gen in storage?

I use seafoam. one ounce per gallon. I use non ethanol gas and once each year I run the Honda and my snow blower out of gas and fill and run some with the mixture above. have not used the Honda since 2007 and the snow blower since 2001 but both run great.
