No ... if you want to run an LED bulb directly on 12 vdc then it needs 12 vdc just as a 120 vac LED bulb requires 120 vac to run. If your intention is to use 12 vdc as source power you have two choices, especially now that 120 vac LED household bulbs with the ubiquitous E26 screw base are commonly available everywhere. 1) Use one of these 120 vac E26 bulbs, power it with an inverter, and suffer the additional draw down on the trailer battery OR simply buy a purpose designed 12 vdc LED bulb with an E26 / E27 base just as I did.

There's no need to reinvent the wheel when 12 vdc LED bulbs with an E27 base are only a click away on sources such as eBay, etc.
