To replace 921 lights I would use at least 18 5050 leds. If you want it a little brighter, use 24 5050 leds.
I bought all mine on eBay and I am happy with them. I recommend you buy 1 or 2 from a vendor and try them out before buying a whole lot. I have found a big variation between vendors.
