You can waste a lot of money putting in LEDs for lamps that are hardy ever on for more than a brief time.
That's what I thought as well BUT prices have come down so much, especially if you're buying in bulk, that it makes little sense to not just swap out all the interior bulbs to LEDs. I initially bought a box of 10 921 bulbs on eBay from this offshore vendor about a year ago, thinking I'd just replace the most often used bulbs in our camper. I liked them so much I later ordered a second box so I could replace all the bulbs and have 4 spares left over, 'though I've never needed to use them. Each one has 24 5050 SMD chips, they're as bright as the incandescent bulbs they replaced, at 3200 degrees Kelvin are a warm white and only slightly colder than the incandescents, and don't interfere with the radio or television at all. I'm going into my second season with these bulbs, have had no failures at all, and for the price am totally satisfied with them. :B
