I have the SMD kind with 48 LEDs on a little circuit board. No regulation cheapos from China via eBay. Very satisfied with them. They are perfect on battery power but overheat when the voltage is much over 13. If we were on shore power regularly I would buy regulated ones. I bought a regulator able to handle all the light circuits but haven't installed it. I would rather have one on each light that is on only when the light is. Anyway I don't need regulation as I never plug in to shore power.
