My "Big" TV is mounted with the very same screws and brackets that held the CRT it replaced.. It's just about 100 pounds lighter so it's very secure.
My two smaller TV's. One is swing arm mounted and I've had screws come loose and drop it on the bed (no damage, I mean if it falls it bounces like a kid on a matress.. On a the matress) I now secure it with crossed bungee cords when moving
The other smaller "moves around a lot" is .. in the laundry basket when moving.
That protects everything.
I've had some well attached stuff fail when I hit a speed bump or three.
