As long as they are amber at the front and down the sides with a red one near the rear you SHOULD be fine as long as the all are in working order. But then some over eager revenue officer may think otherwise. I used to work for a company that used three down the side on a 53' trailer. Some of the major bus companies are using four down each side and they would fall under the Federal (DOT) regulations.
Of course you could have a railroad crossing arm drop down along with all the flashing lights and some dimwit will still pass when you are midway it the turn.
