i have been doing lipo battery's in rc's for a long time. this just appears to be a much larger lipo.
i know of no one not charging via balance ports (each cell is individually charged). in rc's battery get run down right to low battery cut off (at least i do)
my chargers show per cell charging, and let me tell you i always have cells out of balance, always. there is also charge limits (1c,2c) depending on pack capacity.
the charge cycle is current limited until a certain voltage at which point voltage remains steady and current is tapered.
my chargers hold to .00 +/-.02, and still i get battery's that get damaged. my chargers also show amperage added per cell...
i think you are playing with literal fire, by considering charging via series and not per cell...
fyi the battery's i am using are 3sp1, which is 3 in series 1 in parallel which means i have 3 cells(batterys) wired in series to output 11.1v very similar to what your doing..
