I’m kinda confused as to what the fuss here is about??….(I just may be missing the point?…)…
Whether charging from either MPPT or PMW controllers, or Inverter charger, or PD 9245, when monitoring the LFP charging progress (per Victron BMV 712), charging occurs without a hitch…I do a full 100% recharge only occasionally, and only in consideration of periodic cell-balancing, otherwise (due to the wide breadth of available discharge capacity), there’s really not much point in achieving a full recharge.
During the final stage of charging, the current begins to taper down while the voltage nears it’s maximum, then once the programmed ‘end of charge’ meter parameters have been met (programmed voltage, tail current, brief holding period…) the meter then resets to 100% SOC…Beyond this step begins the cell re-balancing process as witnessed by the BMS’s ‘to-and-fro’ alternating of ‘minor’ current and voltage inputs, whereby voltage drops a bit as current begins to rise, then stops, and voltage is restored again to it’s resting maximum - this repeating cycling can take about 20-30 min (sometimes less)…
Other than for an occasional cell re-balancing (requires 100% SOC), I solely rely upon harvest - otherwise, LFP doesn’t really seem to give a hoot what the charging source is…
