CORDED
I'm wondering if sixty dollars for a DeWalt 3/8" corded drill is a little too much?
Harbor Fright drills last OK up to where the chuck begins. Too many problems with major chuck malfunctions...
$60 for DeWalt is an outrage.
DeWalts are made in China, may as well get the $19 Harbor Freight versions instead.
DeWalt USED to be the "premium" line for Black & Decker, B&D brand was erased due to junk quality since the 1980s and DeWalt made it sound better than what it is and they charged a premium price for that yellow..
Additionally DeWalt lies about their motors, way over rating them..
Example Model DWE1014 states 120V 8A, in the fine details it says draws 440W, 440W at 120V is 3.6A, less than half of the touted draw!
Makita model 6407 is made in USA with most parts coming from Japan..
Makita rated theirs as 4.9A at 115V or 563.5W..
Weighs about 3 lbs..
YES, Makita IS expensive at $86 but unless you drop in the ocean it WILL be the last drill you will ever need to buy.
Makita does have another model which is slightly cheaper at $81 but same specs, 6408K, not sure what the difference is but is still made in USA.
Friends don't let friends buy DeWalts..
