It's normal to only adhere it around the edges. I suspect RV's just use the outer walls to hold it in place.
Cracking happens all the time. My neighbor had his crack when the temps were in the teens a few years ago. I keep mine heated to just above freezing to combat this.
Maybe Ins. will cover. :(
EDIT: I tore my floor by accident and was able to piece it back together and use glue (Titebond, a PVA type glue was suggested by flooring mfr) to hold it down. You cant even find the spot I fixed. Might try that.
