If you can find the right wire(s) to connect to, and you still want remote control, you might be able to use a generic remote switch, here's a
two channel remote that might work (two channels so you can have a separate "up" and "down" button)
(I know you said you don't need the remote, but maybe someone else seeing this thread does)
