Short update, so far I’ve been using my OEM PD 9245 charger with Wizard and have noticed that with the Xantrex LinkLite meter at 100% SOC, the PD was still in boost mode at 14.4v and putting out over 17 amps, and when in the normal mode of 13.6v the single 200a/h LiFePo4 still charging at about 5 amps (including a few parasitical loads) ...I also noticed that the PD (hidden beneath the cabinetry) was making a peculiar and loud noise, but after switching the breaker off and on again that noise disappeared.
I find this all to be uber puzzling, and makes me wonder whether the SOC status can even be relied upon, or maybe the PD has a terminal illness (covid19??)...At this point I’’m not too impressed with the current, under engineered Li converter-charger offerings by the big 3, so tomorrow I’ll start looking into Victron’s charger to see if it can also be used as a 12v power supply... Just some mental streaming here - lol...
PD manual excerpt: “the Remote Pendant allows for manual override and has an indicator light toindicate the mode of operation:Light "ON" – Indicates the converter is in the Boost Mode and the output voltage is 14.4 to rapidlyrecharge the battery up to 90% of full charge.Light Blinks Rapidly (every 2-3 seconds) – Indicates the converter is in the Normal Mode and the outputvoltage is 13.6. In this mode the converter is safely completing the charge of the battery.Light Blinks Slowly (every 5-6 seconds) – Indicates the converter is in the Storage Mode and the outputvoltage has been lowered to 13.2. In this mode the RV battery is fully charged”
