Lithium Ion vs Lead Acid

Is Mr. Mark on this forum? If so, ask him what it's costing him to have Liberty Coach install 3 LiON batteries in his new $2 million dollar Prevost. I'll give you a hint. It's about $4500 per battery!

I didn't see the part on temperatures. I have a drill with lithium batteries and at 45 degrees or below they won't charge got to bring them in the house to warm them up.

Alas... Better in every way except one: $$$$$

I think this issue is worth following.. But for the time being price/benefits ratio is still heavily skewed toward lead acid. When they cut a zero off the price tag on the LiONs.. Perhaps then they can compete.

Still? Lithium-Ion doesn't play well with salt water environments and then there's the run-away event the Navy had on one Submarine that was testing them. Sure had the rest of us who used Lithium-Ion on other military projects scrambling with additional testing, reports, meetings, presentations, etc.

I have friends that are well, deeply involved (up to, and including the Navy's Main Battery Steering Committee)
They have been very -VERY- interested in Lithium-Ion battery as a "some-day" replacement for lead-acid battery
