Lithium Storage Battery Shelf Life ?
Lead acid batteries eat themselves alive. It's what acid does for a living. I've not read anything about lithium storage batteries decomposition. When stored in an optimum maintenance fashion.

Lithium ion batteries do get recycled, but not as you think.
A recycling center does basic tests on the batteries, cleans up the connections and puts them into dollar store power banks. There's videos of the process on uTube.
This is where the recycle your cell phone bins go too.
