Aw, Mex, thank you for thinking of me! I need someone to write me a dumbed down explanation, though. Especially since my fire alarm malfunctioned last night and I am only operating on 2 cylinders of brain. Loud, loud, no sleep.
  • Custom build a current throttling resistor for your own battery bank. For a pair of GC 220's series parallel 200 watt of capacity would allow perfect amperage throttling for equalization. It would take a Meanwell RSP-400-15 to achieve 16.0 volts.

Naio, for example could easily make throttler for her AGM batteries and another for her gelled battery setup that in the case of the gel permit a one amp regulated flow.

Control of amperage has been the missing element for proper care of flooded batteries. using the 5% rule and watching voltage climb to 16.0 is magic for flooded lead acid battery management. Because of the lack of control devices I grit my teeth when I read about people doing it wrong then complaining about lack of results.

State battery bank size, and someone will calculate the number of resistors you will need.

The price of resistors such as these used to be TEN TIMES HIGHER.

Oooooooooo -- the price is too high. Ooooooooooo -- it means walking to the porch :)

Soooooo ... What problem are you trying to solve ?

A 1 ohm load on 12VDC will draw 12A. 12A through a 1 ohm load would 144W. Put two 2 ohm resistors in parallel but make sure there is some air around them.
  • If there was a tariff on brains our government officials could cross back and forth scott free.
  • I'm on the other side of the river, upstream. Howdy, neighbor!:C

Ignore those ads, especially if they're on one of the major government run networks. That's all of them, btw.
We don't grow anything except wheat, soy beans, sugar beets, apples, maple trees, and pretty soon, pot.:E
I don't think we manufacture anything up here except hockey players, beer, and snowmobiles.:h

    Speaking of tarriffs.
Where I'm at now (St. Clair Twp. Michigan) I get 2 TV stations out of Canada

They are running a lot of "Grown in Canada" food ads and "Made in Canada" adds and so on.
  • You forgot "ooooooooooo it's aluminum, and now has a 10% tariff on it if it was made in the USA".:C
