This concerns the door latch below the deadbolt. I have the key. I have no problem locking and unlocking the latch, but I can't open the door with the outer latch. I pull on the latch and it won't open the door. The door isn't jammed, it acts like the latch is still locked. So, I am locked out of my RV. All the windows and other ways to get in are closed and locked. There are no compartments or other ways to get in. I don't mind ruining the latch to get in, it needs to be replaced anyway. I have drills and other tools. I don't want to break a window.What can I do?

The cam in the lockset gets worn out. They are made of pot-metal. If you can pry the jamb just enough (1/8") you might get it open and save yourself time and aggravation.

We ended up breaking the window and cutting the screen. Both easy enough to replace. We now leave a window that we can climb through to get in.

You can also drill out the cylinder yourself and save time and money. Then you'll need to replace the lockset.

I recall this being a problem on on brand of locks, and there was a recall on the locks. Just before the recall, I had mine fail, luckily it was on a cargo trailer with a drop down rear door.

Mine does that sometimes. when it does, it is because the door is not completely shut. I have to push it shut, and the latch clicks, and then I can open it.
Just a thought. Something to try.

I had Emergency Road Service when that happened to me. They sent locksmith.
Or just call locksmith.
