As was finally more or less said, your maximum amps, either charging or discharging, determines what size interconnect cable would be required. Except for a large inverter draw, or a very large converter, it seems 4 ga cable would be plenty big, especially when the interconnect cable only ever carries 1/2 the total amperage,.....in a 6v configuration.
