Hi Jonny,
Is the oem battery box in the middle? If so, consider staying with twelve volt jars and having three in total. Wiring for three 12 volt needs to be balanced.
The interconnect cable for twin 6 volts needs to be as large as the combined size of all the connections to the positive post on the existing system.
Two six volt will do about 232 amp-hours max
Three twelve volt will do about 375 amp-hours max (provided there is room for the group 29 format)
The oem box is in the middle in front of the cover. But there is not enough clearance when the cover flips up to mount a taller 6v battery there.
So when you say that the interconnect able needs to be combined size of all connections, help me out with that. Currently there is a 6guage (or so) set of wires connected that go to the converter and power the trailer. I am going to mount my solar controller to the batteries soon so that will be an additional 4 or 6 gauge cable so do i need to add both those up for the interconnect or should I just go with a 6 or 4 gauge and be ok?
