When I upgraded my rig from 30 amp to 50 amp, I used a conventional residential load center. It is cheaper and has more functionality than an RV load center. I kept the standalone converter and powered it on it's own dedicated branch circuit.
Before you start on this, I would suggest you total all the costs of going forward just to power one appliance or improve device charging. The cost of a 50 amp shore cord and a new power inlet is going to be the largest of the entire project.
