This is pretty much a boondocked stationary RV. I'm using locking connex for the 30a anyway, which you'll never find at an RV park anyway - so might as well save on the wire gauge for weight and cost. The point is sort of moot because the answer to my question doesn't change regardless of the service I'm installing. 30a 240v and 50a 240v both leave me with the same unique challenge of not being able to find an RV specific panel which can actually run a 240v appliance.
