Before you start on this, I would suggest you total all the costs of going forward just to power one appliance or improve device charging. The cost of a 50 amp shore cord and a new power inlet is going to be the largest of the entire project.
I think that makes sense, I've been looking at them and finding prices equivalent, but quality much higher. I summed up the costs months ago, and am not worried about it. You can't put a price on peace of mind (and frozen water pipes etc) ;)
