Very interesting..... :h I'm surprised since I figured everyone would have said to go with the 2 Trojans. But thats why I asked.
Thank for those who offered opinion on other brands too. I guess I'll have to do some more digging around on this subject, but I was just under the impression from other past threads and opinions that a couple 6 volt batteries would be superior to a couple 12 volt batteries simply because of their larger amperage over a longer period of time and how well they tolerate usage of long periods without shore power. But maybe I misunderstood the topics.....
To answer a couple questions asked in everyone's responses:
- Yes, I'm getting 2 batteries (no more room than that). But I understood that you double the amperage capacity by running two batteries in parallel so I cant understand why the two 12 volt batteries with lower amp hrs would be better. Am I wrong?
- I didn't think about Costco. Good idea as I love their return policy and they generally have good quality products.
- I've considered getting around 200 watts or so of portable solar panels too but just haven't done enough research to know what will be right for me and my setup and camping style. I didnt know my choice in batteries could warrant anything with regards to solar.
- And I hope I wouldn't have to worry about boil overs or anything negative about battery treatment over time either since I just upgraded my converter to the Progressive Dynamics 65 amp w/Wizard. Per the advice of many members here who said that was the best converter to have.....
And lastly, sorry I offended anyone because I didn't have a "better idea" by searching the forum first. I guess I was under the impression this is what forums are for, asking questions instead of running around spending equal amount of typing time telling others to do their own research. But I guess it sounds like some members would rather there be no more threads at all besides sticky's, and that no one ever ask each other anything not found in old threads. Then we can eventually turn all these forums into alternative Facebook pages where we all just upload pictures of our lunch, inappropriate selfies, and random political video's.....with maybe tossing in a few "likes" in there for feel good patronizing as we all somehow need an internet hug from random strangers. No thanks.....
