Left-handed threads are common on many wheel applications, where the normal tougue would tend to loosen a right-hand thread. Examples are the pedals on a bicycle. one side is left-handed. As I have not changed a tire myself in many years, I do not know about modern cars, But in my day, auto wheel studs were left-handed on one side. If you didn't know that, you could work for days trying to change a wheel.
